Name: Mary Worthington
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Height: 5”2
Weight: 60 kilos
Appearance: A lot of people have told Mary that she takes place in a room, not physically of course but she is someone that you immediately notice when she walks in. She has a charismatic air about her. She is often wearing simple dresses and has dark blonde hair, often tied up because she simply doesn’t care too much about how she looks, except for when she’s working. What’s slightly different about Mary is that she has one green eye and one blue eye but you can hardly notice is unless you’re looking at her really closely.
Mary has a scar below her left shoulder. It was the result of an accident in which one of her brothers, Gregory, was holding a knife in his hands, got pushed and the knife touched Mary. It happened when she was six years old and after that Mary still has a slight fear of sharp objects.
Personality: Having been raised by five brothers and her father, Mary is not the typical “girly girl” and was not taught that a woman’s job is to take care of the rest of the family. She’s definitely not shy and is not afraid to speak her mind about certain matters, even if she sometimes does not think about whom it is she’s talking to. The many loud arguments with her brothers have resulted in many sharp and quick comments towards others.
Even so, Mary is naturally calm and hardly ever gets angry about something but when she does fire up it takes a good long while for her to calm down again. Even if she’s quick to speak her mind about things, she’s not too keen on sharing her feelings with the people around her. It is one of the reasons to why she always carries a diary with her.
Wealth Status: Lower middle-class
Occupation: Maid.
Personal Possessions: A small pocket mirror which was left behind by Mary’s mother after she died and it is one of her most valuable possessions. A diary she carries with her and writes down her thoughts and feelings in.
Pets: A grey cat named Lucifer who doesn’t like anyone else but Mary.
Family: Mary was raised by her father and five older brothers since her mother died in childbed.
History: Mary Charlotte Worthington was born and raised in London. She is the daughter of William and Hannah Worthington but Hannah died after giving birth to Mary. She is the youngest family of six siblings, herself and five older brothers, from youngest to oldest being, Gregory, Matthew, Jake, Jonathan and Thomas. She is very close with Thomas, the eldest and is usually the one she confides in when she is troubled by something.
Her father William is a kind man who loves all his children, but Mary is his most precious, being the youngest and the only girl. He’s always told Mary that there is much of her mother inside her, both personality and appearance wise. Another dear friend of Mary’s is the family cat Lucifer. A lazy, grey cat that’s been around the family since he was a mere kitten and has for some strange reason always taken a special liking to Mary. He doesn’t necessarily dislike the rest of the Worthington family but he’s always close to Mary and loves falling asleep on her stomach, purring loudly.
A secret of Mary’s that not even Thomas knows of, is that she often takes long walks to the cemetery where she visits her mother’s grave. She can sit for hours talking to her, as if she’ll reply. Mary has never had a belief in a God, but she finds it comforting to talk to her mother because she believes that she might be watching over her. Even if she won’t get an instant reply it makes her feel comfortable knowing that she won’t be judged.
Mary has never had a love interest nor has she been in a relationship. Frankly, she wouldn’t really dare bringing a boy home because of how incredibly protective her family is of her. Especially Matthew, the second youngest son. She’s not afraid to flirt with someone if she finds him attractive and she knows she’s not exactly bad looking herself.

Mary sometimes envied the upper class women. Those who could afford fancy dresses and always wore the latest fashion. They had respectable families and it could get them anywhere in life. She envied them a lot. It wasn’t that she didn’t love her family, she did so more than anything in the world and they had been through a lot together, but she couldn’t help but wanting so much more. She stopped walking and glanced into a tailors shop. Beautiful gowns were on display in the window and Mary couldn’t even begin to imagine how much they cost. A sigh slipped out from her mouth and she shook her head, being slightly angry with herself. She had always been taught to be grateful for what you had. Being the only woman in the family, her father and her brothers had put up with a lot over the years and had tried to make things good for her.
The rain poured down and made Fleet Street seem like somewhat of a ghost town. It was getting darker and shopkeepers had closed up for a day. The only thing opened was a bakery which Mary had never entered and she wasn’t going to do so today either. She walked around a corner and hurried across the street, knowing her father wouldn’t be too happy with her if she was home late. Mary understood him; you could never tell what sort of people were out after sunset and frankly, Mary did not wish to know. All of a sudden, Mary found herself falling to the ground as a tall man walked right into her.
“Sorry Miss, let me help you up.” He offered and reached out his hand for Mary to take.
She was all wet now. The dress was almost soaked and the stranger had a regretful expression on his face. He seemed a bit off in his own world and it was as if he did not quite know what to say to Mary. It was an accident, it could have happened to anyone but it was still irritating. Mary was usually calm and rarely got annoyed or angry, but it had been a very long day and she just wanted to go home and get some sleep.
“Sorry Miss, I—I really am.” The man stammered as he hurried across the street. Mary followed him with her eyes until he disappeared around a corner. She let out yet another sigh and continued walking, deciding to forget about the whole incident. It was just a normal man who was in a hurry. But he had still seemed a bit odd.
